It is believed that James Graham emigrated from either Ireland or Scotland as a young man. He lived most of his adult life in Lancaster Co, PA., moving to Rowan Co, NC with his sons sometime between 1740-50. His wife does not appear to be buried in the same church yard, so it is thought she died in PA.
